Job Description
Account Executive selling WM’s environmental collection, recycling, and disposal services to industrial and hazardous-waste customers. Managing territory revenue, new business, pricing, and customer relationships remotely in Texas or Oklahoma.
Responsibilities:
- Present the full line of WM services to prospective customers or assigned territory
- Manage existing revenues and develop revenue opportunities within an established geographical territory
- Meet or exceed individual sales goals for new business with industrial and hazardous waste customers
- Cultivate relationships with internal and external customers
- Coordinate with industrial sales team members
- Maintain existing base business and identify new waste streams and customers
- Target and close event business opportunities
- Drive pre-tax profits through pricing and contracting strategies
- Develop a comprehensive sales plan for the assigned territory
- Work with Technical Service Representatives on waste profiling, proposal preparation, pricing, contracting, and regulatory updates
- Identify local market dynamics and implement countermeasures to competitive campaigns, pricing deterioration, and regulatory changes
- Assist in collecting receivables
- Communicate competitive and market information to management
- Maintain control of confidential information
- Provide monthly sales reports, commissions, and expenses
- Attend industrial sales meetings and training classes
- Perform special projects and other assigned tasks
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 5 years of relevant work experience
- 3 years Industrial or hazardous waste sales work experience required, in addition to education requirement
- Working knowledge of industrial and hazardous waste regulations, including RCRA, TSCA, and CERCLA
- Superior sales and organizational skills
- Ability to reside in Texas or Oklahoma
- Ability to travel as needed
- RCRA and DOT experience preferred
