Job Description
Accountant role at Porch Group supporting financial reporting and internal controls. Collaborating with cross-functional teams while ensuring compliance with regulations and accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Perform professional accounting activities related to general accounting independently
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and process accounting journal entries within established deadlines
- Prepare flux analysis and commentary for income statement and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial data
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities
- Partner with internal teams to maintain accounting processes and internal controls
- Support management with ad hoc accounting and reporting requests
- Participate in annual, quarterly, and monthly SOX and internal audit processes
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Prior experience with NetSuite and FloQast is a plus
- Knowledge of Fixed Assets, Cash, Accruals, Lease Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Intercompany Accounting, Prepaids, Capitalized Software, and Debt accounting
- Proven experience working with US based business teams
- Excellent written and communication skills in English language
