Job Description

Actuarial Analyst analyzing group insurance profitability and pricing products for Blue Cross Life, a leading Canadian life insurer. Supporting underwriting, reinsurance, reporting, and system implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete quarterly reporting to analyze and monitor the profitability of group insurance products
  • Identify and implement enhancements to reporting processes
  • Create and/or populate actuarial models to price group life products and revisions
  • Support the underwriting team for large and complex quotes
  • Communicate with reinsurance partners regarding quotations and technical pricing models
  • Evaluate and review reinsurance treaties
  • Support implementation and testing of new products or product changes in quotation tools and administrative systems
  • Adapt business processes and tools to test and accommodate rollout of new IT systems and data sources
  • Collaborate with teams across Blue Cross organizations in Canada

Requirements:

  • University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or another closely related field
  • Progress toward ASA and/or ACIA designation considered an asset
  • Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Experience building, documenting, and maintaining business process models
  • Strong problem-solving skills with proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues within complex data sets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team
  • Knowledge of group insurance products considered an asset
  • English proficiency, written and verbal, is required
  • Bilingualism (EN/FR) considered an asset
