Job Description

Actuarial associate analyzing US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value results for Martello Re’s reinsurance business. Supporting forecasts, assumption reviews, audits, and reporting automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support quarterly financial reporting across US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value frameworks
  • Analyze modeled results and produce reporting packages
  • Monitor and refine analytics and reports
  • Enhance, streamline, and automate reporting processes and analytical frameworks
  • Support onboarding of new reinsurance treaties and products
  • Design and implement controls and analytics frameworks
  • Support annual actuarial assumption reviews through experience analysis, assumption assessment, and financial impact quantification
  • Support annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Serve as a key contact for external audit requests related to actuarial reporting
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives across actuarial and finance functions
  • Collaborate with Finance and Investments
  • Perform other assigned tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business, or related field required
  • Minimum of two years of actuarial experience required
  • Familiarity with US GAAP (LDTI) and/or EBS/BSCR
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to anticipate, problem-solve, take action, and adapt in a fast-paced, growing business
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others in support of key initiatives
  • ASA designations preferred
  • Familiarity with R, Python, and/or comparable programming language preferred
  • Familiarity with actuarial modeling software such as Prophet or MG-ALFA preferred
  • Must reside in the Eastern/Central time zones, specified operating states, or within commuting distance of the Charlotte, North Carolina office for remote eligibility
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
