Job Description
Remote freelance annotators reviewing Japanese and French SMS/email content for Alpha CRC’s scam-detection AI systems. Creating accurate, high-quality machine-learning training data under detailed guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Review SMS and email messages in spreadsheets and classify each message according to established annotation guidelines
- Apply labels accurately and consistently while maintaining high quality standards
- Process approximately 2,500 messages per day, meeting productivity and quality targets
- Identify ambiguous or edge-case examples and escalate them when necessary
- Participate in regular team calibration sessions and peer reviews, approximately 10% of working time
- Follow project documentation, workflows, and data handling procedures
- Communicate proactively with the project team regarding questions, issues, or guideline clarifications
- Create high-quality training data for machine learning systems used in fraud and scam detection
Requirements:
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese or French, spoken and written
- Excellent command of the English language
- Ability to work within EMEA or USA time zones
- Excellent reading comprehension of colloquial language, slang, abbreviations, and regional expressions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make accurate, consistent decisions based on detailed guidelines
- Comfortable working with large volumes of repetitive data while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines and achieve daily productivity targets
- Comfortable reviewing scam attempts, offensive language, profanity, or other sensitive material
- Experience using spreadsheet applications
- Previous experience in data annotation, content moderation, data labelling, quality assurance, or linguistic projects is an advantage
- Experience with AI or machine learning data annotation projects is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to recognise patterns and identify inconsistencies in data
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate in an international remote team
- Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions
- Reliable internet connection and access to a computer suitable for remote work
