Job Description
Applied AI Engineer building Python services, prompts, and production AI features for BrightPlan’s financial wellness SaaS. Enhancing AI Coach capabilities and integrating LLM workflows into a live fintech platform.
Responsibilities:
- Build and enhance AI-powered product features with product and engineering teams
- Write and refine prompts to improve response quality and feature performance
- Develop Python-based services and APIs supporting AI workflows
- Work with structured data in PostgreSQL and vector-based data systems
- Contribute to feature implementation in FastAPI-based systems
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and accelerate experimentation
- Participate in technical discussions about feature design and implementation
- Deliver AI-powered product features within the first 60–90 days
- Improve the performance, consistency, and reliability of AI-powered capabilities through continuous iteration
- Contribute within sprint-based engineering delivery
- Balance speed, quality, reliability, and maintainability through sound technical judgment
Requirements:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong Python development experience
- Proven proficiency with AI-powered coding tools; Anthropic's Claude Code preferred
- Experience building backend services or APIs
- Experience with LLM APIs, generative AI services, or AI-enabled application capabilities
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team
- Include a brief description of one AI-powered feature, service, or system helped build or support in production when applying
