Job Description
Senior Go Backend Engineer building cloud-based quality management software for life sciences companies. Owning production services, APIs, testing, and distributed systems in a fully remote team.
Responsibilities:
- Own backend components from design to production in a small pod of 2–3 developers
- Work with Product and QA to clarify requirements and business rules and identify gaps before coding
- Model business domains, including component boundaries, data models, and interfaces, using DDD where appropriate
- Write technical specifications and build REST APIs in Go
- Write unit and integration tests derived from business requirements
- Use AI-assisted development tools daily and take responsibility for code quality
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain services in production
- Review code and mentor junior engineers
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on backend development
- Commercial Go experience, or strong Python/TypeScript with working Go knowledge and a willingness to work mainly in Go
- Domain modelling and distributed systems experience
- Good understanding of DDD
- REST API design experience
- Experience with asynchronous, event-driven messaging, including retries, duplicate messages, and partial failures
- Strong data modelling and SQL skills, including transactions, indexes, and query performance
- Experience with containerised services on a cloud platform
- CI/CD experience, using GitHub Actions or similar
- Experience with logging, tracing, and monitoring
- Secure coding practices and access control in a multi-tenant environment
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- High autonomy and ability to drive own work without close supervision
- Nice to have: experience in regulated domains, including GxP, ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and audit trails
