Job Description
Appraisal Reviewer assessing nationwide 1–4 family residential valuations for Planet Capital. Reviewing collateral risk, value support, vendor reports, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Review appraisals of 1–4 family residential properties nationwide for quality, report content, collateral risk factors, and compliance with FIRREA, USPAP, and Interagency guidelines
- Conduct thorough logical reviews of appraisals, review products, and additional data to assess quality, value support, and regulatory compliance
- Research public records and other data sources to verify valuation-product data and opinions
- Prepare detailed written review documentation using internal review forms
- Communicate discrepancies to appraisal vendors and request corrections or additional information
- Interact with appraisal vendors, internal origination, processing, and underwriting staff, and other clients to facilitate valuation-product processing and review
- Assist with other duties and projects assigned by management
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- BA/BS preferred
- Certified Residential Appraiser license level; FHA approval preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of combined field and desk appraisal experience or equivalent
- Current Residential Certified license in good standing required
- National or regional review experience preferred
- Knowledge of appraisal practice and forms used in completing appraisals
- Working knowledge of FIRREA, USPAP, and the Interagency Guidelines
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, and internal valuation tools/applications
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Predictable work attendance and ability to perform the stated physical demands, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 10 pounds
