Job Description

Associate SOC Analyst protecting Expel customers through managed detection and response. Investigating alerts, hunting threats, and responding across endpoint and cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and investigate alerts to identify, assess, and respond to potential threats
  • Collaborate with teammates and customer security teams to remediate incidents and strengthen defenses
  • Conduct threat hunts and root-cause analysis to uncover attacker activity
  • Own alert triage through the full lifecycle, from detection to resolution
  • Improve detection, defense, and customer delivery processes
  • Participate in 24x7 rotational coverage
  • Detect, analyze, and respond to threats across endpoint-to-cloud environments as part of Expel’s MDR service

Requirements:

  • Integrity, curiosity, and a client-first mindset
  • Strong written communication and ability to adapt tone and detail for teammates and customer reports
  • Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP, operating systems, and common network protocols
  • Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, including command-line familiarity
  • Awareness of O365, Okta, AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, and IDS/IPS tools
  • Curiosity about attacker techniques and the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • 1–2 years of IT or security experience preferred; passion, potential, and a compelling story may substitute for this preferred experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be able to participate in 24x7 rotational coverage
