Job Description
AVP, Software Engineering responsible for software systems at Penn Mutual. Leading development teams and managing application lifecycle projects.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing and developing software systems and applications
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the application development team
- Oversee a team of developers and ensure high-quality work
- Manage the development lifecycle of applications
- Develop and implement technology strategies aligned with company objectives
- Work closely with other departments to deliver solutions that meet business needs
- Establish and enforce coding standards and quality assurance processes
- Manage resource allocation and vendor relationships
- Identify and mitigate risks related to application development projects
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related discipline
- 15+ years of experience as a Java developer & AWS platform
- 15+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript, REST, and JSON
- Demonstrated understanding of web and API platform technologies
- Proven experience with the full development lifecycle from concept to delivery
- Knowledge of a broad spectrum of platforms, technologies, and design principles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
