Job Description
Budget Chronic Collector managing payer claims, denials, and reimbursement workflows for LUX Infusion’s infusion care. Supporting patient access through accurate collections and cross-team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up on submitted insurance claims to ensure correct and timely payment
- Monitor and manage assigned payer accounts to minimize delinquent balances
- Investigate denials, underpayments, and unpaid balances and determine appropriate resolution paths
- Work directly with payers to correct issues and secure reimbursement
- Distinguish correctly billed claims from those requiring correction or rebilling
- Maintain understanding of payer contracts, reimbursement methodologies, and coverage requirements
- Collaborate with billing, pharmacy, and operations teams to resolve claim issues
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer and internal inquiries about claim status
- Stay current on billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer policy updates
- Use clearinghouses and billing systems to support collections workflows
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks
- Maintain accuracy, follow-through, and professionalism in payer interactions
- Support patient access to care by helping ensure timely reimbursement and continuity of infusion therapy
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in collections-related activities
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Persistence and confidence when working payer follow-ups
- Customer-service mindset balanced with financial accountability
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ownership of outcomes
- Ability to understand payer contracts, reimbursement methodologies, and coverage requirements
- Knowledge of billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer policy updates
- Ability to use clearinghouses and billing systems
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Participation in required legal and ethical compliance training
- Compliance with LUX Infusion’s legal, ethical, and compliance policies and Compliance Manual
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Required vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus
