Job Description
Business Data Analyst supporting IDS’s government financial-management customers. Building dashboards, models, and visualizations from DoD data while improving data-governance processes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide data analytics support for government customers
- Work with senior leadership on data extraction, cleansing, analysis, visualization, and storytelling
- Gather business requirements and analyze source systems
- Define underlying data sources and transformation requirements
- Design data models and develop metadata for data analysis and visualization
- Acquire and analyze enterprise data and metrics for incorporation into visualizations and dashboards
- Collaborate with business areas and project teams to elicit, identify, prioritize, and document data visualization and business intelligence requirements
- Serve as a functional and technical data visualization and business intelligence subject matter expert
- Translate business analysis and business needs into report and dashboard prototypes
- Contribute to design and visualization best practices
- Use business intelligence tools to develop dashboard deliverables
- Document data acquisition, data management, and data governance processes
- Implement process improvements and efficiencies
- Create training materials and user guides
- Conduct group and one-on-one training for end users
- Support a government financial office
- Some travel may be required
Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of government acquisition, finance or financial management, program management or related experience within a Department of War organization
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business management, engineering, computer science, mathematics, accounting, economics or another related discipline
- Experience using BI and self-service data visualization tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, or Qlik View preferred
- CCaR and/or PMRT experience preferred
- DoW or DAF experience preferred
- Advana or War Data Platform (WDP) experience preferred
- Applicants selected for employment must undergo a Federal background investigation
- Must meet additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information or materials
- U.S. citizenship required

- Must be able to sit, type, hear, see, and speak for extended periods
- Must consistently work and type on a computer for prolonged periods
- Must be able to communicate accurate information and ideas so others understand
- Must be able to lift/carry at least 15 lbs.
- Some travel may be required
- Normal work schedule may vary Monday through Friday; additional hours and/or weekends may be required to meet deadlines or fulfill travel obligations
