Job Description
Camp Manager overseeing food, housekeeping, front desk, and facility maintenance services at Aramark’s remote camp. Managing operations, finances, safety, and hospitality teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the operational team and hourly employees
- Interact daily with the client and the client’s employees
- Plan, manage, and oversee multiple contracted services for a single client
- Meet operational and financial objectives, client expectations, and customer needs
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate all operations at the remote camp
- Ensure safe delivery of high-quality culinary and hospitality services
- Manage operational forecasts, food and labor targets, and cost controls
- Support Front Line Managers in meeting or exceeding financial targets
- Roll out and execute Operational Programs and the Executional Framework
- Ensure the site Scope of Work is followed and report gaps weekly to the District Manager or designate
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture
- Oversee inventory completion and health and safety audits
- Ensure compliance with Aramark, government, and accrediting body standards
- Ensure sanitation and safety requirements are met
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Evaluate service delivery and identify opportunities for new products or amenities
- Enhance partnerships with local communities
- Participate in recruitment, development, and retention of front-line employees
- Motivate, train, and supervise hourly staff and supervisors on Customer Service, Culinary Excellence, and Waste Management programs
- Report to the District Manager
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of management/leadership experience, preferably in remote camps, hotel operations, or the hospitality sector
- Business Diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution is an asset
- Experience working with Indigenous communities/partners
- Advanced Food Safety certifications are mandatory
- First Aid Certification is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Excellent communication skills in French and English
- Ability to work effectively both independently and with supervision
- Strong prioritization and time-management skills
- Ability and willingness to work extended rotations away from home
- Ability and willingness to travel and work long rotations away from home
