Job Description
Epic analyst maintaining Home Health Hospice EHR applications for St. Charles Health System. Designing, testing and supporting healthcare workflows, integrations and system improvements remotely from an approved state.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute all facets of the software application lifecycle for applications supporting hospitals and ambulatory clinics
- Conduct design, build, testing and deployment of the Epic Electronic Health Record and supporting IT systems
- Install and implement system patches, service packs and version upgrades
- Lead process improvement efforts and maintain a roadmap for future system improvements
- Build and maintain system control and application configuration data
- Lead integrated workgroups across application and operational teams
- Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, reports and technical issues associated with the Epic EHR
- Identify standardization and process improvement opportunities and make build decisions
- Organize, prioritize and implement system enhancement requests
- Ensure interfaced data meets business requirements and maintain data integrity and security
- Maintain Epic Gold Stars and Honor Roll criteria within the application
- Evaluate Community Connect needs and integration with design
- Participate in governance committees and obtain proficiency in other applications including Data Courier
- Design and execute small-to-medium scale application testing and support large-scale testing
- Troubleshoot, identify root causes and document application and system problems; escalate issues and maintain status reports
- Manage systems to ensure service level agreements are met
- Collaborate with caregivers, system users, vendors, team leads, management, infrastructure teams and cross-functional teams
- Assist with user training and mentor Application Analyst Level I employees
- Provide business and system performance reporting
- Manage small-scale projects and complete project management deliverables
- Develop system documentation and draft minor documentation policy and procedure changes
- Support organizational vision, mission, values, Lean continuous improvement, safety, confidentiality, compliance and customer service
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent work experience and similar successful professional experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree
- Epic certification in 1 application
- Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product
- Must pass Epic certification exam within 3 months of completing Epic certification training courses
- Ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements
- Ability to travel to business functions, trainings, meetings and all St. Charles Health System worksites
- Minimum of four (4) years paid experience, two (2) of which need to be as an Epic Analyst
- Two years of experience in a healthcare environment including systems and procedure analysis, project management, system support or operational experience in business or clinical area
- Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Effective verbal and written communication with customers, peers, vendors, physicians, caregivers and managers
- Ability to interact with a diverse population and professionally represent SCHS
- Knowledge of design principles and application design features and limitations
