Job Description

Remote contract Claims Adjuster guiding US property-insurance customers through claim resolution. Investigating losses, applying coverage, issuing payments, and writing accurate exterior estimates.

Responsibilities:

  • Adjust assigned desk claim files through resolution in accordance with applicable claims-handling regulations and program guidelines
  • Request appraisals, estimates, cause and origin reports, and other reports to investigate claims
  • Communicate with customers via phone, text, email, or mail using their preferred channel
  • Review estimates and reports and issue payments owed under policy contracts
  • Maintain high-quality claim files with thorough documentation, regular diary entries, proper coverage application, and compliance with claims-related laws and regulations
  • Write accurate exterior estimates
  • Guide customers through the claims process with empathy, accuracy, and speed

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience adjusting P&C Insurance claims
  • Must possess an adjuster license
  • Experience in homeowners, condo, or landlord insurance is required
  • Xactimate experience preferred
  • Knowledge of 3rd party claims and 1st party litigation is nice to have
  • AIC and/or ARM is a plus
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of standard claims practices, estimating, claims processes, coverage application, subrogation, SIU, and related claims matters
  • Experience in subrogation, fraud investigation, or property damage estimating is a bonus
  • Above average computer skills
  • Ability to independently learn new software quickly and use online resources
  • Ability to manage a large workload with minimal oversight
  • Authorized to work in the US
