Job Description
Clinical Pharmacist optimizing Medicare drug therapy quality and cost-effectiveness for HCSC. Supporting pharmacy programs, provider groups, and clinical teams remotely in Arizona or New Mexico.
Responsibilities:
- Perform activities associated with administration and management of pharmacy programs
- Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of disease state formulary systems
- Support utilization management programs
- Support specialty pharmacy management and medication therapy management
- Manage client relationships and provide support
- Develop innovative clinical programs
- Perform daily clinical pharmacy activities within the Medicare program
- Support development and execution of initiatives improving the quality and cost-effectiveness of drug therapy
- Coordinate with ambulatory care providers and clinical teams
- Provide support to assigned provider groups through limited regional travel of up to 250 miles
- Travel approximately 25%
Requirements:
- Registered Pharmacist in the United States
- Experience using window based word processing, spreadsheet and relational database software
- Drug information skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of practice guidelines or practice parameters, pharmacoeconomics, and quality improvement processes and techniques
- Knowledge of medication use evaluation principles
- Ability to remain at a workstation and perform computer entry for long periods of time
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage communications professionally to achieve issue resolution
- Current registered and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of residence
- Must reside in New Mexico or Arizona
- Must be willing to work in the Central Standard Time Zone
- Sponsorship is not available
- Preferred: 3 years of experience within Pharmacy practice
- Preferred: Additional certifications and residency experience
- Preferred: Managed care and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience
- Preferred: MTM experience, specialty pharmacy, or government programs knowledge
- Preferred: PharmD or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy with advanced clinical experience
- Preferred: Completion of a managed care rotation, residency, or relevant clinical program
- Preferred: Experience working with Medicare Stars, MTM, or population-health pharmacy programs
- Preferred: 3 or more years of clinical and/or managed care experience
- Preferred: Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, pharmacy claims systems, and regulatory requirements with emphasis on Medicare
- Preferred: Ability to travel up to 250 miles to support provider groups
