Job Description

Lead Cloud Services Developer designing and developing modular API-driven cloud platform. Collaborating with teams to enhance cloud infrastructure and developer experience at GFT.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop modular, reusable cloud platform services and RESTful APIs that abstract infrastructure complexity and enable standardized consumption across engineering teams.
  • Lead the development and evolution of a web-based cloud services portal, including backend services and user-facing components supporting self-service provisioning.
  • Define and maintain service interfaces, API contracts, integration patterns, and versioning strategies to ensure scalability and long-term maintainability.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across platform and portal initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.
  • Develop backend services and orchestration layers using Python and PHP to support platform automation and portal functionality.
  • Integrate AI capabilities, including generative AI and agentic AI patterns, to enhance developer experience, intelligent automation, and platform interactions.
  • Build infrastructure-backed services using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation across multi-cloud environments.
  • Own and continuously improve the Golden Container Image Factory and Cloud Server Image Factory, ensuring secure, compliant, version-controlled images across operating systems and cloud providers.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, security, networking, and UX/UI teams to deliver cohesive and user-friendly internal developer platform experiences.
  • Drive continuous improvements in platform scalability, resilience, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices in platform engineering, modular architecture, and software development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud platform engineering, or related disciplines within enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience designing and developing modular, API-driven platforms or Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs).
  • Strong hands-on expertise in backend development using Python and PHP, including scalable RESTful API design.
  • Experience building and integrating web-based developer portals with backend services.
  • Expert-level experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and cloud automation practices.
  • Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and container image lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience designing and managing cloud server image pipelines across multiple operating systems and cloud providers.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise cloud security principles, including IAM, policy enforcement, and secure software supply chain practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, influence cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers without direct people management responsibility.
