Job Description

Financial risk modeling consultant processing ALM/IRR models for banks and credit unions. Delivering sensitivity analyses, risk reports, and decision-ready results through Empyrean's platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Process client ALM/IRR models through the production pipeline, including data ingestion, model setup, and assumption management
  • Support NII and EVE sensitivity analysis to help clients assess risk exposures and profitability
  • Configure balance sheet structures, cashflow assumptions, and rate scenarios for accurate, decision-ready results
  • Ensure client data is complete, reconciled, and reliable for modeling and reporting
  • Prepare risk measurement reports and analyses for client-facing consultants and, with experience, directly for clients
  • Advise on best practices for Economic Value of Equity, Earnings at Risk, and Stress Testing
  • Liaise between the client-facing consulting team and product management team, channeling production-queue learnings into product direction
  • Apply AI-assisted tools and repeatable processes, and contribute to process improvements
  • Follow applicable policies and controls and use approved channels for transmitting sensitive customer data
  • Perform other duties and assignments as needed and directed

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Interest or experience in banking, financial services, risk management, or financial technology
  • Understanding of a bank's balance sheet, fixed-income payment calculations, and financial statements
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including formula-based modeling; VBA experience is a plus
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and good planning and organization skills
  • Comfortable following and improving structured processes
  • Demonstrated interest in AI literacy in a professional environment, including data-handling and confidentiality awareness
  • Working knowledge of asset/liability management (ALM) and interest rate risk concepts preferred
  • Progress toward a CFA, FRM, or PRM certification preferred
  • Bank internship experience preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power Query, or other data-analysis tools preferred
  • Familiarity with fixed-income cashflow calculation and fixed-income math preferred
