Job Description
Corporate Accountant executing month-end accounting and finance activities while collaborating with corporate team remotely. Responsible for process improvement and supporting external audits.
Responsibilities:
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including approving journal entries, maintaining monthly reconciliations, and performing balance sheet analysis
- Support initiatives related to inventory automation, including collaboration with cross-functional departments
- Collaborate with the Accounting VP, Director, and Manager in developing and implementing process improvements on monthly schedules to help streamline the closing process
- Assist with requests from external auditors by providing required documentation and information
- Prepare ad hoc reports for management as needed
Requirements:
- 6–8 years of relevant accounting experience, including Big 4 exposure (articleship experience is sufficient)
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Prior experience with supervisory responsibilities, review work, or mentoring junior staff
- Public Accounting experience preferred, or a combination of public accounting and industry experience
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to proactively propose and effectively communicate process improvement solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills
- Experience with NetSuite and/or other ERP systems
