Job Description

Accountant and Administrator providing support for a growing videogame studio in the US. Responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, and administrative operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting, administrative, and operational support for a growing videogame studio.
  • Participate with management, presenting accounting reports and advice to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Create and present financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and report on ROI for marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate with outside CPAs on tax compliance.
  • Oversee state and provincial government registrations and filings.
  • Help manage vendor relationships, setting up and maintaining billing and payment processes and systems.
  • Handle QuickBooks categorization and bank reconciliation.
  • Process sales tax, use tax, and property tax.
  • Validate timesheets.
  • Oversee vacation and sick time accruals.
  • Sync PTO (vacation, sick time) between timesheet and payroll systems.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a small-business accounting and administrative role.
  • Understands government filing and tax rules.
  • Understands employment and payroll regulations.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal English language communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, resourceful, able to find solutions on their own.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to work fast and loose or carefully with quality when each approach is needed.
  • Strong self-discipline, motivated, a self-starter with a drive for excellence.
  • Able to work effectively within a team having a variety of roles, personalities, and backgrounds.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks Online.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
