Job Description
Accountant and Administrator providing support for a growing videogame studio in the US. Responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, and administrative operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting, administrative, and operational support for a growing videogame studio.
- Participate with management, presenting accounting reports and advice to enable data-driven decisions.
- Create and present financial forecasts.
- Monitor and report on ROI for marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate with outside CPAs on tax compliance.
- Oversee state and provincial government registrations and filings.
- Help manage vendor relationships, setting up and maintaining billing and payment processes and systems.
- Handle QuickBooks categorization and bank reconciliation.
- Process sales tax, use tax, and property tax.
- Validate timesheets.
- Oversee vacation and sick time accruals.
- Sync PTO (vacation, sick time) between timesheet and payroll systems.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in a small-business accounting and administrative role.
- Understands government filing and tax rules.
- Understands employment and payroll regulations.
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal English language communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, resourceful, able to find solutions on their own.
- Organized, detail-oriented, able to work fast and loose or carefully with quality when each approach is needed.
- Strong self-discipline, motivated, a self-starter with a drive for excellence.
- Able to work effectively within a team having a variety of roles, personalities, and backgrounds.
- Proficient with QuickBooks Online.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
