Job Description
Senior Design Manager at AtkinsRéalis leading design teams for multi-disciplinary offshore highway projects in the Middle East from India. Overseeing project delivery and mentoring engineers throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead large design teams as Project Manager/Team Leader.
- Provide technical solutions and oversee design delivery.
- Manage budgets, resourcing, and ensure delivery within agreed timeframes.
- Take ultimate responsibility for quality assurance and compliance with Atkins QSE standards.
- Interpret briefs, produce design solutions, and communicate effectively across disciplines.
- Undertake multi-disciplinary project management, including lead consultant duties.
- Mentor and develop subordinates, managing workloads within a matrix structure.
Requirements:
- Civil Engineering degree from a reputed institution.
- Chartered or near-chartered status with an international professional body.
- 12–15 years’ consultancy experience in the Middle East on large transportation infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record in expressways and complex interchanges.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoad, AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of regional and international highway design codes (KSA, UAE, AASHTO, DMRB).
- Experience in offshore delivery models, client coordination, and stakeholder management.
- Strong communication skills and evidence of successful project delivery.
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (desirable).
- Experience as technical lead or project manager on international projects (desirable).
- Team mentoring and training experience (desirable).
