Job Description
DevOps Engineer II maintaining cloud infrastructure for Level Data’s K-12 education software services. Building CI/CD, automation, observability, and secure production platforms across AWS, Azure, and datacenters.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain infrastructure across production, QA, and development environments
- Contribute to infrastructure design discussions and implement platform-standard changes
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Flux CD, GitLab, and Azure DevOps
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures and improve build reliability and speed
- Write and maintain automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Replace repetitive manual work with tooling
- Implement and tune monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Participate in on-call and incident response, perform first-line triage, and contribute to root-cause analysis and runbooks
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to unblock delivery
- Document infrastructure, review peers’ merge requests, and help onboard newer engineers
- Apply security and compliance controls, including secrets management, patching, and vulnerability remediation
- Operate and maintain AWS, Azure, or GCP resources, including networking and identity configuration
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement approved optimizations
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps, systems administration, cloud operations, or a related field
- Experience managing and troubleshooting Linux environments
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git
- Hands-on experience running and troubleshooting containerized workloads in Kubernetes, Docker, Nomad, or similar platforms
- Working experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Practical experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a similar language
- Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Solutions Expert, CKAD, or CKA, are a plus and may be held or in progress
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check
