Job Description
DevOps Engineer II maintaining cloud infrastructure for Level Data’s K-12 education software. Building CI/CD pipelines, automation, observability, and secure multi-cloud operations.
Responsibilities:
- Build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure across production, QA, and development environments
- Contribute to infrastructure design discussions and implement changes following established platform standards and patterns
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Flux CD, GitLab, and Azure DevOps
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures and improve build reliability and speed
- Write and maintain automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Replace repetitive manual work with tooling
- Implement and tune monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Participate in on-call and incident response, perform first-line triage, and contribute to root-cause analysis and runbooks
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to unblock delivery
- Document infrastructure, review peers’ merge requests, and help onboard newer engineers
- Apply security and compliance controls, including secrets management, patching, and vulnerability remediation
- Operate and maintain AWS, Azure, or GCP resources, including networking and identity configuration
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement approved optimizations
- Own well-scoped work end to end with limited supervision and contribute to larger initiatives under senior engineer direction
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps, systems administration, cloud operations, or a related field
- Experience managing and troubleshooting Linux environments
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git
- Hands-on experience running and troubleshooting containerized workloads in Kubernetes or Docker/Nomad
- Working experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Practical experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a similar language
- Certifications in relevant cloud technologies are a plus, including AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Solutions Expert, CKAD, or CKA
- Must complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
