Job Description
Capital One Director leading technical programs and platform transformation for credit decisioning technology. Driving roadmaps, architecture alignment, delivery accountability, and TPM maturity across engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead programs that deliver critical business goals and build large-scale products and platforms
- Establish TPM operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling across portfolios
- Drive program roadmaps aligned with business objectives, technical solutions, and dependency sequencing
- Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and architectural alignment toward platform convergence and reuse
- Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks
- Influence technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost, and resiliency
- Define measurable platform success outcomes, including availability, scalability, cost efficiency, and developer velocity
- Ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams
- Expand the TPM discipline by teaching the organization what effective TPM practices can achieve
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
- 7+ years of experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service oriented architecture (SOA)
- 3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably AWS
- 3+ years of experience building highly scalable products and platforms
- 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
- 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs
- Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
- 3+ years of people management experience or influencing organization as an IC
- Experience driving platform standardization across multiple product portfolios or lines of business
- Track record of building TPM maturity at scale within engineering organizations
- Exceptional communication and influence skills
- PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
