Job Description
Novartis ultra-rare disease account specialist supporting Cleveland healthcare providers. Orchestrating access, reimbursement, treatment initiation, and patient support across field and home-office teams.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and navigate account-level challenges with customers to deliver compliant solutions supporting patient care
- Develop and execute Health Care Provider and account-level business plans
- Educate Health Care Providers and practice teams on access, reimbursement tools, and non-clinical barriers to care
- Support timely treatment initiation and continuity of care through understanding patient flow, drug acquisition, and practice dynamics
- Collaborate with field-based and home-office partners and share market access insights
- Apply knowledge of ultra-rare diseases, competitors, and industry trends to identify opportunities and address challenges
- Analyze territory data and market trends to inform strategy and lead virtual and in-person HCP engagements
- Lead cross-functional planning to solve complex HCP challenges
- Orchestrate Novartis resources across Medical, Access, and Patient Support teams using omnichannel capabilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required from a 4-year college or university
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams within the last 5 years
- Proven track record of consistent high performance
- Experience navigating and selling to large accounts and key customers
- Analytical ability to find, prioritize, and apply relevant information to solve customer problems
- Ethical leadership and ability to foster compliance with company policies and laws
- Residence within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border
- Ability to travel 60–80% over a broad geography and drive and/or fly within the territory
- Fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license required
- Associate level: limited prior sales experience accepted; alternatively, recently separated U.S. military applicants with 4+ years of leadership service
- Territory level: 2+ years’ experience in a relevant specialty industry or similarly complex sales role within the last 5 years
- Senior level: 5+ years’ experience in a relevant specialty industry or similarly complex sales role within the last 5 years
- Executive level: 10+ years’ experience in a relevant specialty industry or similarly complex sales role within the last 5 years
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a matrix environment and communicate clinical product information
- Desirable: experience with ultra-rare or specialty disease states and sophisticated access/reimbursement pathways
