Job Description

Financial Aid Systems Consultant optimizing financial aid operations for colleges and universities. Advising on technology implementation, compliance, and student services across various systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise colleges and universities on financial aid system configuration, optimization, and integration strategies
  • Provide functional leadership for financial aid technology workflows, reporting processes, and data exchanges
  • Translate regulatory and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve system, workflow, and data-related challenges
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, testing, validation, and modernization initiatives
  • Improve data controls, reconciliations, reporting capabilities, and overall system effectiveness
  • Develop documentation, playbooks, recommendations, and best-practice guidance tailored to institutional needs
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to financial aid offices, information technology teams, enrollment leaders, and executive stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Significant experience with one or more higher education enterprise systems, including Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday, PowerFAIDS, Colleague, or comparable platforms
  • Strong understanding of financial aid operations and the systems that support compliance and student services
  • Experience with system configuration, implementation, integration, testing, and optimization
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to assess current-state processes and recommend future-state improvements
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to functional staff, institutional leaders, and executive stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and client relationship skills
  • Experience working in higher education technology, financial aid administration, ERP environments, consulting, or systems implementation projects
