Job Description
Frontend Engineer building enterprise web applications for SupplyHouse.com, an HVAC, plumbing, heating, and electrical supplies e-commerce company. Improving interfaces, performance, accessibility, and user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Build new user interfaces, components, and libraries for applications
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Backend Development to align technology and design
- Review code written by other Front-End Developers
- Ensure industry-standard development best practices, including accessibility and privacy compliance
- Implement SEO best practices
- Keep up with the latest front-end technology and recommend technologies to use or migrate to
- Report to the Frontend Team Lead
- Work with Development and Design teams to build enterprise-level web applications and improve the overall user experience
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience or 6+ years of equivalent professional experience without a degree
- Strong experience with responsive web development, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES5+), TypeScript, accessibility (a11y), and Node.js
- 3+ years working with modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably React, including client-side scripting
- 2+ years of experience with server-side rendering (SSR) using Express.js
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, and API testing/documentation using Postman
- Proficiency with state management and data flow, including the Redux ecosystem (redux-saga, reselect, redux-persist)
- Experience with HTTP clients such as Axios, including interceptors and error handling
- Strong experience with frontend testing and monitoring, including Jest, React Testing Library, and Sentry
- Expertise translating Figma designs and prototypes into clean, valid, pixel-perfect, cross-browser compatible markup
- Solid knowledge of CSS architectures and styling approaches, including styled-components, styled-system, and CSS Modules
- Experience with forms and validation using Formik and Yup
- Strong grasp of performance optimization techniques, including code splitting and lazy loading
- Familiarity with modern build tools such as Webpack and esbuild
- Experience with object storage services such as S3
- Strong product and UX sensibility, with attention to edge cases and error states
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot
- High-level proficiency in written and verbal communication in English
