Job Description
Entry Level GIS Specialist at Xcellent Technology Solutions supporting the USGS with geospatial science and cartography. Engage in collaborative projects and gain hands-on experience with ArcGIS.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on geospatial science and cartographic work for The National Map
- Join a collaborative Geospatial Technical Services team supporting USGS
- Apply strong knowledge of geospatial and cartographic concepts
- Receive professional hands-on experience with the ArcGIS software suite
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of GIS and cartographic concepts
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of technical staff both in person and remotely
- Clear, concise, timely, and accurate communication skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and produce quality deliverables
- Ability to be analytical and apply problem solving skills
