Job Description

Guidewire Developer responsible for designing and implementing PolicyCenter configurations and integrations for insurance technology. Requires strong programming skills and collaboration with business analysts and architects.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and extend Guidewire PolicyCenter modules including Policy Submission, Quoting, Issuance, Renewals, and Cancellations.
  • Customize screens, field validations, product models, coverage terms, and rules using GOSU scripting.
  • Create and maintain PCF (Page Configuration Format) files and UI components.
  • Design and develop Web Services (SOAP/REST) for inbound and outbound integration with third-party systems.
  • Implement Messaging architecture for asynchronous communication (e.g., JMS, plugins).
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, QA, Architects, and client SMEs to interpret functional requirements into technical design.
  • Conduct unit testing and support SIT/UAT phases with quick defect resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Develop technical design documents, integration specs, and deployment guides.
  • Ensure reusable components and best coding practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements:

  • 3–6 years of experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter development (v9 or above).
  • Strong hands-on experience in GOSU, Java, and Guidewire Configuration & Integration frameworks.
  • Proven experience with PolicyCenter Data Model, Business Rules, and Product Model configuration.
  • Expertise in developing custom SOAP/REST APIs, WSDLs, XSDs, and XML/JSON payload transformations.
  • Experience working with Guidewire Messaging, Integration Plugins, and Batch Processes.
  • Understanding of insurance domain concepts – Personal or Commercial Lines is a plus.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance-tuning skills.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based version control.

  • Prior experience in Agile environments using JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.
  • Experience integrating Guidewire with platforms such as Duck Creek, Salesforce, MuleSoft, AWS Services, or internal carrier systems.
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) is a plus.
  • Insurance domain knowledge or experience with NA carriers (e.g., Definity, Gore, Bamboo, etc.).
