Job Description
Lead housekeeping and janitorial services for NMS industrial remote camps on Alaska’s North Slope. Direct staff, maintain safety and cleanliness standards, and operate on a 2 x 2 rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties required of a housekeeper or assigned employee
- Help direct and guide housekeeping and janitorial employees
- Train new staff and provide ongoing training
- Conduct, replace, and disperse assigned inventories
- Conduct inspections to maintain service quality
- Coordinate equipment care and maintenance
- Help conduct safety meetings and ensure daily operations comply with company and client safety requirements
- Ensure staff meet quality standards and work procedures
- Resolve minor maintenance or client emergencies or take steps to address them permanently
- Assist employees with work-related difficulties
- Identify, resolve, or appropriately report site safety hazards
- Notify the supervisor when safety and sanitation standards are not met
- Perform other duties pertinent to department or unit success
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least one (1) year experience evidencing working knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment and industrial cleaning processes
- At least one (1) year experience in commercial housekeeping
- At least one (1) year verifiable supervisory experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or hospitality
- Basic skills operating Microsoft Office applications
- Must pass pre-employment requirements, potentially including drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment, and hearing test
- Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team with employees, customers, and clients
- Ability to make decisions with little to no supervision
- Ability to stand for 12 hours per shift during the scheduled rotation
- Ability to live in dormitory-style settings and meet remote camp cleanliness requirements
- Must speak, understand, read, and write English
- Must meet company and client safety guidelines and regulations
- Ability to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps
- Preferred: valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three years
- Must complete required physical and fit-for-duty tests, including lifting, carrying, stairs, kneeling, squatting, ladder climbing, and related physical tasks
