Job Description
Lead technical infrastructure development for Bizee, focusing on AI-powered systems for entrepreneurs. Contribute to various platform services and build a scalable team.
Responsibilities:
- Build the technical foundation for Bizee's transformation into an AI-powered operating system for entrepreneurs
- Own the pricing service, experimentation infrastructure, AI/LLM gateway, and core data architecture
- Write and review code, accountable for production systems
- Scale a platform team from 2 to 5 engineers
- Master customer and subscription records in a new custom database
- Develop custom pricing service with tiered pricing and discount logic
- Implement AI/LLM gateway for rate limiting and model routing
- Create vector database infrastructure for semantic search
- Enable A/B testing via an experimentation platform
- Maintain event-driven architecture for subscription lifecycle events
- Document and test disaster recovery plans
Requirements:
- You've built platform architecture from scratch, not just inherited and maintained
- Deep experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent)
- Strong DevOps/SRE background: you believe in "you build it, you run it"
- LLM integration experience: embeddings, vector stores, prompt engineering
- Hands-on coding: you still write production code, not just diagrams
- Track record of progressive refactoring (strangler pattern, not big bang)
- Claude Code or similar AI tools as daily practice
- Led platform teams of 5+ engineers through major transitions
