Job Description
Home health medical billing specialist supporting Abby Care’s AI-powered family caregiving platform. Preparing high-volume insurance claims and validating aide hours for accurate payroll and billing.
Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare medical claims for submission to insurance providers
- Ensure CPT, diagnosis, revenue, and place-of-service codes are accurate before claim submission
- Convert Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) records into billable claims
- Enter and manage 60–75 claims per day
- Conduct weekly payroll quality assurance of home health aide hours
- Perform weekly QA of home health aide visits for billing to Managed Care Organizations
- Verify charted and worked hours match health-plan-authorized hours
- Support Revenue Cycle Management, focusing on claim entry and billing
- Verify complete and accurate billing information and assist with Coordination of Benefits
- Monitor claims for payer compliance
- Enter and manage claims in billing systems such as CollaborateMD
- Maintain accurate records in billing and related systems
- Use multiple systems simultaneously with dual monitors and screen-sharing tools
- Communicate with internal teams about billing documentation and claim issues
- Follow billing workflows and escalate issues when necessary
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience in U.S. medical billing
- Strong understanding of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process
- Experience with CPT, diagnosis, revenue, and place-of-service codes
- Experience preparing and submitting high-volume insurance claims while maintaining accuracy
- At least 1 year of Home Health billing experience
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and EHR/EMR systems
- Comfortable working with multiple systems and technologies using dual monitors and screen-sharing tools
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Highly adaptable to change and willing to adapt to changes in the role
- Preferred: Medicaid billing experience
- Preferred: Experience working in remote or distributed teams
- Preferred: CollaborateMD (CMD) experience
- Preferred: Familiarity with Availity, NaviNet, Waystar, NextGen, or Avaya
