Job Description
Incubation Research Specialist evaluating innovative approaches for Compassion's child development and poverty-alleviation programs. Supporting research, stakeholder engagement, pilot testing, and evidence-based scaling decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and implementation of incubation and research initiatives addressing complex challenges facing children, youth, families, churches, and field offices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify unmet needs, generate ideas, and evaluate effectiveness, sustainability, and scalability
- Apply research methods to answer learning questions and assess pilot initiative impact
- Facilitate workshops, discussions, and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Analyze and synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
- Support projects from concept development through testing and evaluation
- Contribute to learning agendas that strengthen responsible innovation
- Integrate feedback from children, youth, church partners, field leaders, researchers, and organizational leadership
- Stay informed on emerging research, development trends, and innovative practices
- Travel globally up to 30% for project implementation, stakeholder engagement, and learning activities
- Foster curiosity, learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Bachelor's degree and approximately five years of relevant experience; Master's degree preferred
- Familiarity with research processes and methodologies
- Curiosity and passion for exploring complex questions
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt to evolving priorities
- Strong collaboration skills across teams, disciplines, cultures, and organizational levels
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Experience engaging diverse stakeholders
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and facilitation capabilities
- Experience conducting or supporting research, monitoring, evaluation, learning, or related activities preferred
- Exposure to human-centered design, innovation, design thinking, or incubation approaches desirable
- Experience working in cross-cultural contexts highly valued
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as R, Stata, or similar platforms beneficial
- Spanish or Kiswahili language skills a plus
