Job Description
Senior Research Associate leading protein purification and analysis for Lonza, a life-sciences manufacturer. Mentoring scientists and supporting antibody and bioconjugation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, lead and mentor a junior team of scientists.
- Understand and perform product purification using FPLC chromatography, including SEC, IEC and Protein A.
- Develop and review workplans involving SEC, UPLC-MS, HPLC, SDS-PAGE and endotoxin testing techniques.
- Set standards for high-quality work.
- Monitor documentation of results in ELN.
- Approve production reports in PowerPoint format and product certificates (CoTs).
- Communicate results with the broader stakeholder community.
- Provide general support to lab operations.
- Serve as subject matter expert in project team meetings with customers.
- Adhere to company policies, quality and safety standards, and laboratory regulatory compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- BSc or MSc degree in chemical biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering or related fields.
- Team management skills.
- Experience with protein purification and analysis techniques including SEC, IEX, affinity chromatography (protein A/L, Ni-NTA), SDS-PAGE, RP-HPLC and MS.
- Experience handling antibodies, including modification, purification and analysis.
- Familiarity with bioconjugation chemistry techniques; hands-on experience preferred.
- Strong commitment to laboratory work and project delivery.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
