Job Description

Lead Engineer owning UFORCE’s first Western-facing uncrewed aircraft product. Integrating, testing and industrialising reliable air systems for defence customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Take hands-on technical ownership of UFORCE’s first Western-facing air product
  • Assess the current design, customer requirements and test evidence, identify risks, and create a 90-day delivery plan
  • Establish requirements, configuration records, bills of materials, interface definitions and change control
  • Lead systems integration across airframe, propulsion, power, avionics, flight control, communications, navigation, payload interfaces and ground systems
  • Establish failure reporting and corrective action, address priority failure modes, and verify improvements through ground and flight testing
  • Prepare the product for repeatable production through design for manufacture, component qualification, approved substitutions and supplier-risk management
  • Release production documentation including drawings, BOM, assembly requirements, inspection and acceptance tests, and cost-reduction priorities
  • Define approved configurations, test plans and readiness criteria for customer trials and delivery
  • Work with Ukrainian product experts and international teams to translate operator and customer feedback into product changes
  • Identify reusable architecture, components and engineering practices, and recommend capability and resource needs

Requirements:

  • Experience leading delivery of a complete air vehicle or substantial integrated UAS product, with evidence of personal technical decisions and impact on flight performance
  • Ability to reason across mechanical, electrical, flight-control, communications, navigation and software interfaces
  • Meaningful involvement taking an aerial product into repeatable production, including design for manufacture, configuration control and production testing
  • Track record diagnosing flight or field failures, identifying root causes and proving corrective actions through repeatable testing
  • Ability to set priorities, coordinate engineers and specialist partners, and drive delivery through influence and formal authority
  • Practical understanding of how design decisions affect availability, qualification, unit cost, manufacturing quality and sourcing requirements
  • Understanding of GNSS denial, jamming, communications resilience and operator feedback in UAS design and testing
  • Comfort working close to hardware, making decisions with incomplete information and balancing delivery speed with engineering control
  • Ability to distinguish demonstrated capability from development goals, explain limitations and escalate technical, safety or resource risks early
  • Willingness to travel regularly to engineering teams, manufacturing sites, test ranges and customers
  • Nice to have: experience with Ukrainian UAS teams, Western defence customers, NDAA, Blue UAS, export controls, customer trials, military qualification, airworthiness, payload integration, cross-country engineering/manufacturing coordination, or broader technical leadership
