Job Description

Lead QA automation for Perch, a digital mortgage platform helping Canadians build wealth through real estate. Setting quality standards, managing QA engineers, and maintaining automated regression coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Own QA strategy, set jointly with the VP of Engineering
  • Define the quality bar, including entry/exit criteria, coverage, and release readiness
  • Standardize reporting across delivery teams
  • Prioritize coverage by risk, focusing on business-critical behaviour
  • Build, own, and maintain automated regression coverage across web applications and services
  • Select and own automation tooling and set maintainable suite conventions
  • Run test suites continuously against every change and keep results trustworthy
  • Manage, mentor, and develop QA engineers
  • Own quality outcomes across the function, including escaped defects, coverage, and release confidence
  • Work alongside Engineering and Product from requirements through release, embedded with delivery teams
  • Report to the VP of Engineering

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in QA/test engineering, including 5+ years owning test automation
  • Experience owning quality outcomes for a team or function
  • Experience managing and mentoring other QA engineers
  • Track record of setting testing strategy and standards and getting them adopted organization-wide
  • Demonstrated experience building an automated regression suite from the ground up and maintaining it over time
  • Deep hands-on fluency with at least one automation platform, including Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Ghost Inspector, Testim, Katalon, or mabl
  • Comfortable with code: able to read, script against, and debug tests
  • Based in Canada and eligible to work in Canada
  • Track record of succeeding in a fully remote team
