Job Description
Lead Supplier Quality Engineer overseeing supplier quality for energy-sector equipment, components, and parts. Leading audits, inspections, compliance documentation, and complex quality issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor supplier quality for assigned equipment and components from qualification through final inspections and shipment release
- Execute supplier evaluation processes, including quality and compliance audits, tender analysis, and supplier onboarding
- Partner with procurement, engineering, and project quality teams
- Prepare and approve Quality Control Plans, Inspection Testing Plans, and Product Testing procedures
- Perform and organize Factory Acceptance Tests, Pre-Shipment Inspections, and packaging inspections
- Support second-party inspection organizations
- Develop and execute surveillance audit and SRG (Safety/Health/Environment) audit plans
- Manage Supplier Deviation Requests, Non-Conformance Reports, and Root Cause Analysis
- Lead resolution of complex cross-functional quality issues
- Review and approve supplier End of Manufacturing Reports and issue final shipment releases
- Review and approve supplier painting processes and documentation
- Support development of supplier capabilities within HRSG and BOP/HRSG scope
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Metallurgy Engineering; or equivalent experience
- Significant experience or familiarity in power, oil & gas, or heavy manufacturing
- Proven ability to influence, communicate complex messages, and work efficiently without direct supervision
- Ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and implement quality control related to technical specifications and international codes/standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally at short notice
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, welding, heat treatment, and coating
- Familiarity with ASTM, ASME, and API codes
- NDT knowledge
- FROSIO certification
- Lean Six Sigma
- ISO Lead Auditor training
