Job Description
Linguistic QA Tester proofreading Bulgarian-localized content for Welocalize’s translation and AI content solutions. Identifying linguistic and functional defects across software, mobile apps, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Proofread and edit content localized into the target language
- Identify grammar, typo, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political correctness, inconsistency, and spacing errors
- Translate content from English into the native language when needed
- Check user interfaces for functional issues
- Write and report bugs and errors through the internal database system
- Prioritize tasks and issues efficiently
- QA products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases
- Discover and report defects using client-specific bug-tracking tools
- Evaluate translations in software, mobile apps, and documentation contexts
- Research and resolve linguistic questions as a subject matter expert
- Follow project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, checklists, and glossaries
- Troubleshoot basic problems, communicate effectively, and escalate testing issues
- Complete assigned tasks with quality and timeliness
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a college or university in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work onsite and/or at client location
- Native-level or fully bilingual fluency in Bulgarian
- Strong English skills, written and verbal
- Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in Bulgarian
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to navigate networks and websites with different browsers
- Basic knowledge of PC hardware, including desktop and laptop computers
- Basic knowledge of smartphones, including iPhone or Android
- Organization and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Localization, QA, or translation experience or advanced computer skills preferred
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods
- Ability to use a computer mouse and keyboard for extended periods
- Willingness to review potentially offensive content
- Ability to use a computer monitor/screen for extended periods
