Job Description
IBM Mainframe Developer designing and maintaining applications and services for Trade Finance processes in a global team. Involves complex application understanding and integration of new modules.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the existing legacy applications
- Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining of the new business applications using basic mainframe technology stack: COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, MQ queues, utilizing both batch as well as online processing transaction in the solution.
- Ensure the stability of our applications
- You are involved in all stages of the software development process:
- Solution design
- Coding
- Testing (Unit Testing, System Testing, Performance and E2E testing support)
- Test Documentation
- Deployment on test environment
- Support during the UAT and bug fixing
- Preparation for rollout to production
- Reverse engineering
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge about z/OS operating system and their common subsystems like MVS/TSO, ISPF, USS (Unix System Services), JES, IMS.
- Good knowledge of the COBOL programming language.
- Good knowledge of the JCL programming language as well as good understanding of the mainframe batch processing.
- SQL language, knowledge of one or more relational databases (especially DB2)
- Basic knowledge about SSH/FTP protocols
- Experience with Scrum/Agile working environment
- Professional experience on this or similar position
- Nice to have: Basic knowledge about Unix system and OS in general – file systems, processes, searching for logs, text editors, file managers, monitoring
- Basic concepts of hierarchical databases
- Basic knowledge of CICD practices
- Basic knowledge about modern programming techniques like API, REST
