Job Description

IREN’s VDC Manager establishes BIM standards and digital delivery systems for renewable-energy AI data centers. Leading teams, model coordination, and lifecycle data integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and own IREN's enterprise VDC roadmap, including BIM execution plans, modeling standards, LOD requirements, naming conventions, and quality benchmarks
  • Develop governance for how design, general contractor, and trade partners author, exchange, and federate models
  • Embed VDC requirements into contracts, RFPs, and consultant agreements
  • Standardize model-data transition from concept through design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and operational handover
  • Support project teams overseeing VDC activities with guidance, templates, and best practices
  • Advise on model-based quantity takeoff, 4D sequencing, and 5D cost integration
  • Support prefabrication and modular construction through fabrication-level coordinated models
  • Provide escalation support for complex coordination challenges
  • Own the corporate VDC technology stack, including platform selection, administration, licensing, access, and vendors
  • Integrate model data with project controls, document management, GIS, asset management, and digital twin systems
  • Pilot emerging reality capture, automated clash resolution, generative design, and AI-assisted coordination capabilities
  • Partner with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Commissioning, Data Center Operations, and Innovation
  • Interface with external design firms, contractors, and fabricators on VDC matters
  • Build and lead IREN's corporate VDC team
  • Develop organizational VDC capability through training, playbooks, and workflows
  • Establish VDC KPIs and report schedule and cost impacts to executive leadership
  • Run lessons-learned reviews and improve corporate standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in VDC, BIM management, or digital construction delivery
  • At least 3 years leading VDC programs or teams
  • Data center, mission-critical, or large industrial project experience strongly preferred
  • Expert proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, or equivalent CDE platforms
  • Experience federating and coordinating large multidisciplinary models
  • Proven track record establishing corporate BIM/VDC standards and execution plans
  • Experience enforcing standards across external design and construction partners
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews
  • Experience supporting prefabrication or modular construction from fabrication-level models highly desirable
  • Exposure to 4D/5D workflows, reality capture, or digital twin programs desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline required
  • Relevant certifications such as Autodesk or buildingSMART are a plus
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate technical model data into decisions for executives and field teams
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
