Job Description
Mechanical Engineer designing 3D CAD equipment and fabrications for IMI Industrial’s millwright and fabrication services. Ensuring manufacturability, testing, compliance, and cost-effective production.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance new and existing products and product lines
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and feedback to develop product concepts in 3D CAD
- Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet technical and functional requirements
- Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures
- Create technical drawings and manufacturable designs, including installation drawings and supporting field-installation documentation
- Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs
- Collaborate with Project Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other engineers
- Align designs with production capabilities and compliance standards
- Ensure project milestones and timelines are met
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years of related product design experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and PDM Software, preferably AutoDesk Inventor and AutoDesk Vault
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production techniques, specifically in steel and sheet metal manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to accommodate periodic weekend or evening work when expected
- Ability to manage and execute multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities
- Ability to protect confidential and sensitive employee information
