Job Description
Mechanical Engineer 3 at NuScale Power developing NSSS components using engineering design methodologies. Conducting stress analyses and optimizing component design for nuclear industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Performs and documents evaluations of components to the rules and requirements of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
- Utilizes the results from these evaluations to optimize component(s) design
- Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems
- Adheres to the NuScale Safety culture and is expected to model safe behavior
Requirements:
- A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of full-time relevant working experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience with engineering design and stress engineering analysis in the nuclear industry
- Expertise with the ANSYS computer program
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
