Job Description
Medical Science Liaison supporting Mirum Pharmaceuticals’ rare-disease liver portfolio across New England. Building HCP relationships, facilitating research, and delivering scientific exchange, presentations, and congress support.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with thought leaders, healthcare professionals, study investigators, and professional organizations within the assigned territory
- Support research initiatives across development and clinical site investigators
- Liaise with HCPs interested in investigator-initiated research and facilitate research proposal review
- Engage in scientific exchange in response to HCP requests
- Communicate relevant scientific and clinical information to HCPs and researchers
- Deliver scientific presentations to advisory boards, patient advocacy groups, payors, and other audiences
- Assess community needs and provide accurate, unbiased information to senior management
- Support company-sponsored research, investigator-initiated research, and publications within PhRMA guidelines
- Support planning and execution of advisory boards
- Monitor emerging scientific literature and clinical data
- Support congress and conference strategy and communicate scientific insights
- Comply with company SOPs, regulatory requirements, applicable laws, and PhRMA guidelines
- Complete other assigned responsibilities in a timely manner
Requirements:
- Advanced science or clinical degree, such as MD, DO, Pharm.D., PhD, NP, or PA
- 5+ years of field Medical Science Liaison experience preferred
- Rare disease experience or prior hepatology and/or gastroenterology experience preferred
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific information
- Strong oral, written, and communication skills
- Ability to travel frequently, including up to 60% overnight travel
- Valid driver's license
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to learn new applications
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong business acumen
- Launch experience preferred
- Must live in the New England area or assigned field medical territory: Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and upstate New York, excluding New York City
- No relocation offered
