Job Description
Virtual therapist providing multidisciplinary mental health treatment, assessments, groups, and family care. Managing safety, documentation, crisis support, utilization reviews, and discharge planning.
Responsibilities:
- Provide treatment services according to the Discovery Clinical Model within a dynamic multidisciplinary team
- Ensure patient safety and provide milieu interventions
- Lead psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups
- Facilitate clinical assessments, admission assessments, and the admission process
- Conduct individual and family therapy sessions
- Complete timely clinical documentation throughout treatment
- Manage a caseload of 5–6 patients in RTC and 10–15 in OP
- Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and communicate weekly treatment goals
- Facilitate process-oriented and psychoeducation groups one to two times daily in RTC and 2–4 times daily in OP
- Facilitate multi-family groups, family program, and/or family weekend
- Provide utilization reviews to insurance companies to obtain initial and continuing stay authorization
- Maintain accessibility to family members and loved ones, returning calls and emails within specified timeframes
- Assess patients for suicidality and danger to self or others
- Provide clinical support for other clinical team members when needed
- Communicate with Utilization Review and Business departments regarding authorization and payment
- Begin discharge planning on the day of admission
- Complete discharge sessions and ensure coping skills, transition plans, resources, and follow-up appointments are in place
- Communicate with referral sources and outpatient providers for continuity of care
- Facilitate patient transfers to a higher level of care as needed
- Participate in clinical outreach and program tours
- Manage crises in sessions and the milieu
- Support milieu staff in interactions with patients and loved ones
- Collaborate with the treatment team and milieu staff to ensure clinical quality
- Provide RTC on-call support at least once per month and return program calls within 20 minutes while on call
Requirements:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in relevant field, required
- Completion of state requirements and state license to conduct therapeutic interventions required
