Job Description
Juniper Network Administrator configuring and securing routers, switches, firewalls, and carrier networks. Troubleshooting Juniper infrastructure, upgrades, incidents, and vendor maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Juniper network devices and systems
- Design, install, configure, manage, and maintain Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment
- Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability
- Troubleshoot networks to isolate and diagnose common network problems
- Implement and maintain security controls
- Administer firewalls, access controls, and other security protocols
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation
- Update network diagrams and service records
- Respond to network incidents and diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly
- Schedule and perform network upgrades, patch management, and routine preventive maintenance
- Interface with vendors regarding network equipment configuration and maintenance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) certification highly desirable
- Experience with network management software tools such as Juniper’s Apstra desired
- At least 5-10 years of network administration experience, with a focus on Juniper networks
- Strong understanding of Juniper network hardware, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), firewall configuration, VPNs, and LAN/WAN technologies
- Knowledge of Juniper MX 80, MX120, MX 240, MX 204, MX480, MX 960, QFX5100, and QFX 10000
- Experience with MX, SRX, and QFX
- SRX knowledge on any of the specified models
- Knowledge of Junos OS versions
- Experience with data center networks
- Experience with carrier networks
- Knowledge of routing protocols BGP and OSPF
- Knowledge of switching protocols STP, RSTP, MC-LAG, VPC, and MPLS (mandatory)
- Knowledge of virtual routers, routing instances, and IPSec tunnels (mandatory)
- Knowledge of incident/change management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira (optional)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as PRTG (optional)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle stress and remain focused during technical issues
