Job Description

Mid-Level Network Administrator maintaining day-to-day enterprise network operations for Ferguson. Triage and resolve network incidents, and support scheduled network changes in a remote setup.

Responsibilities:

  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve network break/fix incidents
  • Implement approved, low-risk network configuration changes
  • Support and administer Aruba and Cisco routing
  • Monitor network health and performance using SNMP and enterprise monitoring tools
  • Perform packet captures and traffic analysis using Wireshark
  • Support routing and overlay/underlay operations
  • Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding
  • Coordinate with carriers and service providers
  • Manage incident, request, and change tickets within ITSM workflows
  • Document remediation steps and contribute to technical resolution notes
  • Participate in site surveys and engineering design discussions
  • Work independently with limited supervision

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience supporting enterprise network operations, including large-scale deployments
  • Good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts
  • Solid routing fundamentals with hands-on experience supporting OSPF and BGP
  • Experience supporting SD-WAN environments
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and observability tools
  • Solid understanding of packet analysis and traffic validation
  • Experience deploying, upgrading, and supporting switching infrastructure
  • Hands-on wireless administration and troubleshooting experience
  • Familiarity with network management platforms
  • Experience owning incidents and service requests within an ITSM platform
