Job Description
Platform Engineer focusing on Observability for Comcast, driving the TV advertising industry forward through advanced data and technology. Responsible for managing telemetry pipelines and improving Developer Experience.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage centralized observability platforms (Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Design and optimize telemetry pipelines using OpenTelemetry.
- Partner with software engineering teams to ease monitoring.
- Write and edit code to automate manual processes.
- Build sophisticated Grafana dashboards and alerting logic.
- Create concise technical documentation and “golden paths”.
- Integrate monitoring into CI/CD pipelines.
- Assist teams in triaging production issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (relevant work experience also considered).
- 3–4 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Deep expertise in OpenTelemetry, Elastic (ELK/ECK), Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Proficiency in Ansible and Terraform.
- Strong facility in Python or Go.
- Experience deploying applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with Concourse, GitHub, and Artifactory.
- Strong UNIX/Linux background.
