Job Description
OpenStack Engineer at VEXXHOST designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale OpenStack environments. Collaborate with global clients and internal teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain OpenStack environments for production use
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and capacity
- Troubleshoot issues across OpenStack services such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, and others
- Perform upgrades, expansions, and lifecycle management tasks
- Work directly with clients to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to integrate OpenStack with our other platforms and tools
- Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and consistency
- Create and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and best practices
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems
- Assist in preparing and reviewing architecture designs for new deployments
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenStack in production environments
- Solid understanding of compute, networking, storage, and identity services within OpenStack
- Proficiency with Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as KVM
- Experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar automation frameworks
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
- Scripting experience with Python, Go, or similar languages
- Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and conduct root cause analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with clients.
