Job Description

Patient Financial Counselor facilitating financial assistance for patients at Providence. Responsibilities include payment collection, eligibility determination, and application submission for financial support.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact directly with patients and their families to resolve patient accounts
  • Handle financial clearance and payment collection
  • Assist with obtaining sponsorship and financial assistance
  • Determine eligibility and provide education for State and Federal programs
  • Complete and submit applications for financial assistance

Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
  • 3 years of experience or proven success as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its Affiliates
  • 2 years of experience in automated, computerized account follow-up system, preferably in Epic
