Job Description
School Counselor supporting student success and academic planning at Iowa Virtual Academy. Providing preventive services and assisting in postsecondary options for students.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes student success by providing preventive services
- Helps all students plan for postsecondary options
- Delivers classroom instruction based on student success standards
- Reviews transcripts and other academic documentation
- Facilitates course placement recommendations
- Analyzes student data and develops intervention plans
- Provides short-term counseling and referrals
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement
- School Counselor License
- Ability to clear required background check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexible schedule
- Experience with distance learning
- Advanced coursework in counseling and administration
